Thank you very much to every one who has sent their best wishes via this website since Charlie and I got married! We shall be in Paris for the Salon du Cheval, in London over the Chrismas period and in South Africa in January - we hope to catch up with you all eventually.

I am the privileged owner of two gorgeous horses: a proud Lusitanian stallion and a pure-bred Friesian mare. My one passion in life is to figure out how I can ride them well. They are enthusiastic and patient teachers. Least I can do is to ride in such a way that we both enjoy the experience, and look forward to our time together.

Their ever-forgiving approach has taught me a lot about life in general, and about horses, and now I want to return the compliment: I want to ride them with the respect and kindness that they deserve.

Finding a good instructor is a good beginning, but our instructor only spends two hours a week with us, the rest of the time we have to find our own way. I have found that equestrian books and DVD’s can be an invaluable aid in my quest for harmony between me and my horses.

But not just any horse book or any horse riding DVD. Some are much more helpful that others.

This website is dedicated to showcasing the books that made a difference to the way I ride.

Two of these books I wrote myself. One is about horse riding confidence, how to get it and how to get it back if you lost it: Riding with Supreme Self-Confidence. The other one is about my incredible Friesian mare, one in a million, and how she helped me to change my life completely: Confidential Letters to Lady Belle.

There is a lot of information on this website about horses, horse riding and getting to know yourself and your horse better. There is also a little online bookshop called Dream Horse Books where you can buy my books and the ones that helped me understand my horses better.

My original idea was to sell a handful of selected horse e-books online because it is such an easy and quick way to share knowledge and experience…little did I know how quickly my idea would grow!

Today the website has more than 2000 subscribers, two newsletters, several online courses, an equestrian reading club, a gift shop …there is even an area dedicated to big riders, an e-book should they want to lose weight and a XXL clothes shop in case they do not.

So feel free to browse…and to come back whenever you feel like it.

Now you can discover or rediscover the pure pleasure of horseback riding in perfect harmony with your horse by training your mind as well as your body.
